Podcast Consumption

Doppler is working swimmingly for me (its scheduling works). For a few days now I've been pretty regularly listening to the following feeds:

DSC has been interesting to keep up with. And the recent Wil Wheaton items that IT Conversations put out were entertaining.

Brandon (who recently released an MT plugin to support RSS enclosures) spoke about his attempts to get a podcast recorded on Windows, and moving back to the Mac platform. I'm still feeling out what I'd need to set up to record one of my own; we'll see.

I started using Doppler as well. They need a way to recognize a particular feed you have previously downloaded now. After I listen to a show I delete it. Doppler keeps retrieving the same Podcast, so I leave the one I just listened to on my machine until I see the next one show up. That seems to be working reasonably well.

Thanks for using Doppler! I'm happy that you like it!

to Scott: The next release includes a history for the file you downloaded. If the file is not available on the file system, but there is entry in the history, it will skip the download. The new release will be out there any day from now. Besides the history there is now also native Windows Media Player support.

Nice Erwin! :)

I'd like to thank you as well, Erwin. I'm checking out the latest version now and it's working great. I'm only using the "Add to iTunes" feature at this point, but I plan to check out the Bloglines feature soon.
