IBM Drops The Hammer
Things just got a lot more interesting in the SCO-IBM case. IBM has filed a motion for partial summary judgement which asserts (finally!) that SCO has violated the GPL/LGPL by redistributing Linux (which includes IBM's work) after both saying the GPL is "unenforceable" and selling and attempting to sell its Linux licenses. I think IBM's done a good job of staying out of the press regarding the case (unlike their adversary); many people (including myself) have noted SCO's hypocrisy regarding the GPL for some time. This brings the issue to the forefront of the case. I'll be watching the Groklaw headlines a little closer for a while. ;)
