Cyg's Mini Review: The Tea Party "Seven Circles"

Don was kind enough to point out that the new Tea Party album was released in Canada last Tuesday. Until I can get my hands on a copy of it (thanks in advance to Don, who's headed to Montreal soon) MP3s will have to do. After a few listens in the car and one on headphones, I have to say it's growing on me. Even though some of the songs are "stripped down" by TP standards, the fact remains that if I heard any of them on the radio, I'd know they were TP songs. That's helped mainly by Jeff Martin's vocal style, but it's true also of the melodies. For example, the fifth track, "Luxuria", is signature Tea Party, even without the vox.

Haven't really picked any favorites; even though the songs don't really flow together like past TP albums, I've been listening to it in sequence.

If you're an ICYG member, listen up for some of the new songs in the rotation. If you want in on ICYG, email me.
