"A copyrighted work is not a gift."

Via Lessig News: Groups Seek Legal Copying of DVDs

Quite frankly, this whole subject is a mess. Authors works are released for people to enjoy supposedly, yet we have to walk a fine line of semantics in this day and age to in anyway fully enjoy the works of art that we purchased.

Back not so many years ago it was considered perfectly OK to tape CD's, I did this all the time without fear. Now because everything is somehow tied to a PC/the internet/and other CD's that suddenly you are treated as if you killed someone. Not an exageration on my part either. The witch hunting, which includes internet providers is horrible and it all wreaks of greed.
