Cingular Buys AT&T Wireless?

As seen on Slashdot: Apparently it's so; I'm currently an AT&T Wireless customer who's been enjoying a low-cost, low-feature corporate plan for a few years now. I hope Cingular doesn't come in and screw things up.

Update: Here's a more comprehensive AP article on the subject.

Same here. I get a discount through work. Maybe they will come in and just add rollover minutes! I'd like to see a 7 PM evening minutes start time as opposed to 9. Back in the day, AT&T used to be 7 PM.

As an AT&T customer who's fed up with their customer service, I'm actually looking forward to someone else coming in and improving things. My cell gets no signal inside my house, AT&T continues to bill me for mMode, despite me cancelling it four times already, and my wife and I had already made the decision to switch providers once our contract expires in November.

Hmmmm... wonder if I can switch now... :)

I second that Don! AT&T and customer service do not belong in the same sentence(although I guess I just did that). I have been wanting to switch to Cingular, but I get a discount through work.
