This Weekend's Games, Part 2

Can I call 'em or what? ;)

Two more great games. The most impressive thing about the Colts was, of course, their offense. The most impressive non-scoring fact: no false start penalties (I think). The most embarassing: no punts from either team the whole game! When Dante Hall got that return TD, I thought the Chiefs had a chance to surge ahead. Their defense blew it after that. I think we're only going to see a great AFC Championship Game next week if the Colts' D steps it up. Defense wins championships.

Should be a good NFC Game next week. Philly just won a tough-fought one (in OT as predicted) on Akers' left foot. I would feel better about the Eagles' chances next week if they had been a bit stronger (on both offense and defense) earlier in the game. I think the Panthers defense will be tougher than the Packers'.

More NFL thoughts to come.

Comments

All four games this weekend were great. It's saddens me that it will soon be over!

A little off topic here, but thinking of the Roman Numerals for the Superbowl, and assuming my memory is correct, next year will be XXXIX and the following XL. I can only imangine the marketing blitz for the eXtra Large Superbowl. Maybe this shouldn't have occured to me, but it did. =/

You are correct. This Super bowl will have the largest amount of numerals for quite a while. I thought about this *last* year, when seeing the already excessive amount of numerals and thinking "there'll be one more 'I' next year and it'll be all down from there". Let's see, the next Super Bowl with more numerals will take place in... 50 years. ;)
