Ugly

It's ironic that we were watching yesterday's Bills/Cowboys game in HD; the extra definition wasn't needed to see how glaringly poor both team's offenses were playing. That's the ugliest game I've watched so far this season. Granted, it tells volumes about how good each team's defense is playing right now.

Kevin Gilbride needs a serious talking to. And Josh Reed is starting to drop catchable balls again.

In related news, it was great to see Doug Flutie getting a "farewell tour". What a performance yesterday! He's 41 and I wouldn't blame him if he retired next season. But should he? ;)

I switched back and forth between the Bills/Cowboys and the Chargers/Vikings game. Flutie is nothing short (no pun intended) of amazing. I have been a big supporter of Flutie through the years, though admittingly I was not in the 1980's.

But did Flutie ever get a real shot with real talent in the NFL? I think not, even in Buffalo a stupid move was made after Flutie leads the team to a 12-4 record. I believe the 4 losses were contributions from Rob Johnson also. The idiot coach in Buffalo benches Flutie for the playoff game(one will never know why) and the Bills lose. I actually thought they had a real shot at a Super Bowl that year.

Background article on the Flutie benching

The idiot you mentioned is now coaching what is currently the worst defense in the league. ;)

Oh yes Wade Phillips I could not recall his name. I believe he had several terrible years in Denver before Shanahan as well. Anyway, I thought Phillips really made the wrong move benching a guy that led them to the playoffs. As Fischer said in the article you linked, that surprised me.
