Fuel Update

I found out from a buddy that Fuel is doing an in-store appearance at our local Best Buy tomorrow to promote the release of Natural Selection. I confirmed this on FuelWeb; they're actually appearing in stores in several cities the next few days. My family and I are planning to go check it out; I just hope it's not mobbed beyond belief. I don't listen to the local radio stations much, so I have no idea how heavily it's been promoted.

Wow - there were a lot of people there for the show. I wish I'd brought my camera! There was a stage set up in front of the store and the guys came out at 6:00 and played a 30-minute acoustic set featuring "Falls On Me", "Shimmer", "Bittersweet", and "Hemorrhage". Pretty cool for free! The disc was on sale for $12 and they threw in a bonus CD with a non-album track called "On The Road Again". I'd estimate the crowd was at least 2,500-3,000 strong. Perhaps whomever's underwriting their tour will see fit to add a Harrisburg or Hershey show. Currently the closest they'll be touring is Philly.

I've noticed they've also rereleased their two previous albums with bonus tracks. They haven't been around for that long - isn't it a bit early to fleece the fanbase into buying extra copies of stuff?

I thought the same thing about the re-releases. Good thing it's a free market. ;)

One ironic thing about the bonus-track-CD I mentioned before is that it's designed to look like a burned Sony CD-R with marker writing on it. I thought the record companies only condoned burning music on "Music" CD-Rs. ;)
