Another Fantasy Football Draft

My Yahoo! Fantasy Football league draft was last night. Unfortunately, I was slated to pick 10th out of 10 teams. Good thing it was a snake draft! When I found that I was picking so late, I decided to shift my priorities. Instead of drafting RBs first, I picked (IMHO) the best WR and QB available with my consecutive first- and second-round picks. I even picked another top WR before getting my first RB in the fourth round. Here is my team, in the order they were drafted:

  • WR Marvin Harrison
  • QB Donovan McNabb (if he has a bad year, it will hurt me in both leagues)
  • WR Plaxico Burress
  • RB Eddie George
  • QB Aaron Brooks
  • RB Amos Zereoue
  • WR Donte' Stallworth
  • TE Shannon Sharpe (I can't believe he was still available)
  • DT Baltimore
  • K David Akers (ditto)
  • WR Chris Chambers
  • RB T.J. Duckett
  • DT Jacksonville
  • TE Michael Ricks (I ran out of time trying to find a TE and he was autopicked)
  • K John Hall
Full draft results are here if you're interested.

Man, I cannot believe you got Aaron Brooks that late. You have a tremendous backup if Donavan is not playing well. I do not like your pick of Eddie George though. Unless he does a lot better than he did last year. I had him last year and he was average at best. I think one of the best weeks I got out of him was 12 points and most times he was only worth a few yards rushing. That is just my opinion though.

I like Shannon Sharpe, who were these people picking I have to go look at the whole draft. Michael Ricks is bad, I had him last year too. Heh. I had Plaxico, Marvin Harris and Hines Ward and they all did me great last year. Provided Harris and Plaxico have similar years you should be strong with those picks. Donte' Stallworth too! Damn, you are strong at wideout, I think so anyway. Who knows, you might runaway with this lineup. I would say it more depends on Zereoue and George's years. But who really knows.

The league I'm in starts three WRs and two RBs per week, so I figured I would try to go stronger at WR to make up for not having a stud RB. Three strong WRs should make up for two so-so RBs.

It's a good thing I don't put money down on this stuff, that's for sure. The time drain is enough. ;) But I can't wait for tomorrow's and Sunday's games.

Are you the infamous bassist/singer from the hit band Desert Ice?
