"Rush In Rio" - Concert DVD!

I just found out from a Rush.com email yesterday that the band will be releasing a live DVD from their Vapor Trails tour. Here's the info:

"RUSH IN RIO" will be a 2-Disc set containing Rush live in concert, filmed during the Rio de Janeiro show last November, plus an exclusive mini-documentary and behind the scenes footage of guys on tour while in Brazil, written and directed by Rush photographer Andrew MacNaughtan. The DVD set will have worldwide release in a variety of international formats. As well, look forward to special packaging and artwork designed by Hugh Syme.

All I've heard is rumors so far of a late June/early July release. I'm sure now that the band has officially baited us, they'll publish a release date as soon as they have it. And I'll post about it here.

I am so looking forward to hearing Rush recorded live with today's technology. I hate to say it, but Vapor Trails production just isn't good. The songs would be so much better with better production. Alex's guitar is so muttled. The live version of the new songs will blow us all away. I think Rush should really hire "the best" producer(s) on their next studio album. I am sure I will hear oposition, but hay thats American...

I have seen clips from the dvd. they do a close up of Geddy and man is his nose huge!!!!!

My sentiments exactly. I love Rush, but the mastering on Vapor Trails CD is horrible. I can't wait to hear the new songs on the DVD. It'll also be nice to have a Rush concert video that's actually a full concert!

I agree...Vapor Trails, though it is some of the band's best writing & compositions to date, was recorded incorrectly. It is too muddy - too much bass....and the highs just aren't there. They DO need to get someone new to record the next one....hey, maybe some of us fans! Ha ha ha!

Hey guys. In England it's been put back to the end of October now??? Why do RUSH always do this? I remember waiting for the Show Of Hands video and it was put back time and again (I was eager because I was at that show :) Vapor Trails really took a long time to grow on me...I didn't like it at first. The muddy, unclear sound of the guitar and bass, lack of synth and solos...and the murky drums. But I since have come to think it's one of their best albums to date. As ever, Neil's writing and groove is exceptional. I am eagerly anticipating the DVD!!!!!!
