Number Two
No, I'm not referring to that "number two". I ended up coming in second in my fantasy league for the season. Two main things contributed to my loss: I started Marc Bulger as my QB since I feared Tommy Maddox would be smothered by Tampa Bay's defense. Unfortunately, Bulger went out very early in his game with an injury and didn't return; to make things worse for me, Maddox actually put up some decent numbers! After Sunday, I was 10 points ahead of my opponent, but he had Keyshawn Johnson yet to play. The Steelers ended up allowing a "gimme" touchdown near the end of the game, and Johnson scored it. My opponent received 12 points from Johnson's performance, enough to send me packing...
I had a lot of fun playing this year, and I have to commend Yahoo's FF site - it worked well and was easy to use. If it's still free next year, I plan on hosting a private fantasy league there; I have quite a few friends at work who are interested in playing. Don, you could join us!
In my fantasy hockey league, I'm actually in first place. I have really good goalies, but I haven't had the best luck predicting their performance. I'm trying to balance their minimum weekly start requirement (3 starts) with their resulting stats. Very hard!
I've got the next two weeks off for the holidays, and we're staying in town, so I'll probably be posting a bit more often. Don't forget to check out WCYG!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Well, you have to learn somehow! ;)
Fantasy hockey is definitely a different beast. Roster management is much more fluid and unless you've got a bunch of perennial losers, you seem to have a chance. And I'm sure the results I've had so far this season have been mostly because of the luck of the draw. I have some of the best goalies in the league, from what I can tell.
