Ogg Vorbis 1.0 Released!

The Xiph Foundation has officially released Ogg Vorbis v1.0 today! For those not familiar with Vorbis, it's a lossy audio compressor/decompressor (codec), similar to MP3. I've been using the prerelease versions for over a year and it's my preferred format for encoding my CD's. It has more fidelity, bitrate for bitrate, than MP3. It's not supported on most mobile MP3-type players yet, but for computer-based listening, it's great! I encourage you to visit Vorbis.com and check it out!

Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 Released

Microsoft released the long-awaited Service Pack 3 for Windows 2000 today. You can download it from here. I'm a professional Windows NT/2000 Server administrator, and we've been waiting on this quite a while. Let's hope it makes W2K even more stable; it's doing quite well for me already.
